Artist: Marius Zeihlund
Hi.
My Name is Marius Peter Zeihlund I am 18 years old and a self-taught photographer. I’ve always had a passion for photography, painting & art. This passion I’ve shared with my granddad who passed away in 2020 and here I was lucky to heritage his collecting of camera equipment. He sparked my interest and made me eager to pursue photography & art as more than just a hobby.
My schooling has been a bit of a rollercoaster I got diagnosed with ADHD in 8th grade. Throughout my time in school, I have kind of felt like the odd one out and never really managed to fit into society’s boxes which has caused some pain.
I have had to mature and grow up faster as people’s perceptions of me often got misunderstood. You could easily get labelled lazy or “too much” just because you could not concentrate or sit still like the others. I found peace in photography & and art because there is no right or wrong it is a utopia where there is space for everything.
Living with ADHD can be overwhelming therefore I enjoy creating art pieces during the night and get inspiration from the quietness and not-so-stressful everyday life. I hope people will experience this softness when looking at my art. I will describe my style as abstract with a splash of surrealism.
The viewer should feel some kind of emotional connection when standing in front of my art pieces. It does not matter who they are or where they are from but I want the viewer to create their own story based on my pieces and hopefully, this story will evolve.
